Frogwater is the acoustic pairing of John & Susan Nicholson.  Renowned for their musical virtuosity and exuberant live performances, they like to think of themselves as musical ambassadors, and describe their style as "eclectic acoustic peoples' music".  Their repertoire spans from Celtic to Delta Blues, Classical to Pop with a healthy dose of unique original material filling out the mix.  Their innovative interpretations of traditional tunes span the centuries and the miles and defy categorization.

"Frogwater is the most musically diverse Irish Band in Milwaukee".

Frogwater originally founded in 1997 from the collaboration of John and Susan, having both been in Milwaukee's formative ensemble, The Ghillies.  Frogwater grew to occasionally include multi-instrumentalist, Lil' Rev.

Frogwater has been called the "little duo that could", and folks have often remarked at how two little people can make a sound so BIG, it could be an entire band!  They tour whenever possible and enjoy playing festivals (Milwaukee's Irish Fest and Bastille Days, Wheatland Traditional Arts (MI), Sugar Maple Traditional Music Fest (Madison), Wisconsin State Fair and Wisconsin Scottish Highland games).  Frogwater has been honored with awards from the Shepherd Express Reader's Poll, Wisconsin Area Music Industry awards (W.A.M.I.).  John and Susan have also been participants in Milwaukee's vital theater scene; performing and writing original music for shows with Renaissance Theaterworks and acting and playing music with First Stage Children's Theater.

They perform concerts and have become sought-after regulars at many clubs and pubs.

Both John and Susan play an array of instruments, constantly mixing it up and having fun!

Their discography includes "Frogwater - Live at Thai Joe's" (1998), "Bus Breakdown" (2003) and "Sparkle & Shine" (2003)
